PVC Pipe Extrusion
for Water Infrastructure
Rollepaal helps pipe producers manufacture reliable, material-efficient PVC pressure pipes for water infrastructure using solid-wall PVC-U, M-PVC, and inline PVC-O extrusion technology.
PVC pressure pipes for water distribution
Water distribution networks require pressure pipes that deliver reliable long-term performance, consistent dimensions, and efficient material use.
For pipe producers, these requirements start with the pipe design itself. Material strength, pipe dimensions, and the applicable design coefficient determine the required pressure performance. Consistent production also depends on stable extrusion, accurate material feeding, and control of wall thickness and pipe weight.
Rollepaal supports both conventional solid-wall PVC-U and M-PVC production and inline PVC-O production for pressure-pipe applications.
Choose the right production technology
Different pressure-pipe requirements call for different production approaches. Rollepaal supports both inline PVC-O and conventional solid-wall PVC extrusion.

PVC-O combines high-pressure performance with efficient raw material use. See how PVC-O pressure pipe is handled and installed in a real water infrastructure application.
What determines efficient pressure-pipe production?
The pipe design defines what needs to be produced. Process control determines how consistently and efficiently you can produce it.
Control material use
Stable material feeding and consistent output help prevent unnecessary pipe overweight and reduce raw-material consumption per meter.
Maintain pipe consistency
Extrusion, die-head performance, cooling, and haul-off must work together to maintain stable pipe dimensions throughout production.
Reduce process variation
Measurement and process control make deviations visible earlier, helping operators correct the process before they result in excessive material use or scrap.
"We selected Rollepaal's in-line PVC-O process. In our view, it was the best technical solution."

Common questions about PVC pipe production for water infrastructure
PVC-U and M-PVC can be produced as conventional solid-wall pressure pipes. PVC-O is produced by orienting PVC in both the circumferential and axial directions, improving its mechanical performance and enabling more material-efficient pressure-pipe designs.
PVC-U pressure pipe is produced as a conventional solid-wall pipe. PVC-O adds a molecular orientation step after extrusion. This changes the PVC's mechanical properties and allows the pipe design to meet the required pressure performance with a thinner wall.
Material use depends on both pipe design and production control. An efficient pipe design can reduce the required wall thickness, while stable material feeding, accurate wall-thickness measurement, and consistent process control help minimize unnecessary overweight during production.
